A European week of action will take place from 4-10 October against the deportation of Afghan refugees. Also, in the Netherlands we want to raise our voices together with citizens, local and national politicians and refugees. On 6 October we will organize a protest in Utrecht. We start at 15:00 hr at the Domplein/Dom square, will you be there?
Why do we protest?
Despite the extremely dangerous situation in Afghanistan, the Dutch and other EU governments still send Afghan refugees back. This is unacceptable. Afghanistan is unsafe and the situation has been getting worse over recent years. This year has again seen a record number of civilian casualties, and the UN and Amnesty International clearly state that European governments should not send people back to Afghanistan.
