Hellen Kooijman, the Netherlands, is one of the founders of the European network Don’t send Afghans back. She has a background in journalism, and a focus on Eastern Europe and especially Bulgaria about which she wrote many articles and a book. Since the persistent refugee crisis in Europe she is focused on how the European Union is dealing with refugees, especially Afghans.
